Steaming ahead in to a new year

We optimistically embrace a new year, hoping that it will turn out to be a vast improvement on the last, and therefore in true British style we are all trying to keep calm and carry on as best we can. With that feeling in mind, we are steaming ahead with a number of exciting project requests from schools across the country.

Regular readers will be familiar with our bespoke mud kitchens and play trails that we have previously created. We are now expanding on our portfolio with transport themed play elements!

The Dawnay School in Surrey recently requested a custom-made train incorporating their school colours for their play area to replace their old wooden one which had seen much better days! With the money raised by parents, this new sustainable locomotive and 1st class carriage (each of which are 8ft long x 4ft wide x 7ft high) is gifted to the school by the “Dawnay Friends 2020”.

It was a great project to design, build and install (huge round of applause to Philipi our Lead Fabricator), and we are so excited to see the children’s reactions when they return to school. It’s also fantastic to be able to offer the added safety reassurance that using our material can provide (over traditional timber) as it doesn’t rot, split or splinter, therefore making it perfect to use within the construction of children’s play equipment for them to enjoy.

We will be expanding on the range of traditional transport themed play elements we offer, so whether it be planes, trains, automobiles, or any other special request, please do get in touch with us to discuss!

Since the start of the pandemic there has also been an increase in orders from schools for our picnic tables and benches because of the benefits our material offers, including being easy to keep clean. With just a simple spray-down with a hose or wipe over with a damp cloth and disinfectant on a regular basis ensures that they are kept hygienic. We also have a range of bright colour options available, including purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown, black, grey and beige, so they can be tailored to your school!

About us
At Reformed Plastics we offer a range of bespoke furniture, anti-slip decking, gates, fencing and planters suitable for a variety of environments. These can not only add the sense of substance as well as practicality to a space, but they can also make the great finishing touch to any rejuvenation project.

All of our products are made from 100% recycled plastic. We manufacture products ourselves and then sell direct to the Domestic and Commercial sector.  From concept to completion, our experienced and dedicated team based at our Parley workshop will make it their mission, for you to get the most out of your outdoor space for the best price possible!

Due to the ever-increasing importance to recycle and protect the environment, the plastic used is recycled in the UK and is the perfect maintenance free alternative to wood. Our aims are to help rebuild the environment by utilising a commodity which people would otherwise just throw away, turning what most would consider rubbish into a valuable product for everybody.

How strong is it?
It is extremely solid and strong being able to withstand stress levels of well over 10x that of traditional timber. It is heavy, durable, virtually indestructible and will not need to be replaced. In short, it is worry free!

Financial benefits
Achieving value for money is a key driver for any purchasing decision. Although some recycled products have a greater up-front cost, their longevity and durability make them a much more cost-effective and sustainable option over the long term.
